I am trying to prevent unauthorized alterations to pdf files I create. under Formats;PDF;Security;"Disallow User to" I have selected both "Modify the document" & "Modify comments" but resulting PDF file can still be altered using Adobe. I've also tried enforcing "Password required to open document" without success.

seems I may have solved my own problem. manually updated values in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PDFCreator\Printing\Formats\PDF\Security
& these features appear to be working now.
This should also works with the settings dialog.
