Hi,
I'm trying to convert images (or the entire document, it's the same) in a pdf to cmyk, with no success.
I've tried to set the pdf format to cmyk in pdfcreator options, but it seems useless.
Does anybody know the right option, if present, or maybe another tool capable to offer this functionality?
Thank you in advance,
Guido
Hi Guido,
sorry, but I can't answer your question for PDF Creator.
But for FreePDF ...
... I tried the same with FreePDF 3.2+ and GPL GhostScript 8.6+, but http://www.pdfcity.com told me checking the PDF, that it had CMYK colours, but RGB objects.
Asking guys in the FreePDF forum led to the answer, that GhostScript is not capable to write CMYK, because it ignores the color space command while writing out graphic objects.
So ... to create CMYK printable files I configured additional printers with FreePDF for TIFF CMYK output, which works quite fine.
With PDF Creator you are able to create CMYK bitmap files, too! So perhabs you must forget PDF for CMYK output and use such bitmap formats like PSD or PCX!
I hope this helps a bit and is still up to date information!
Best regards,
Martin
