Creating a PDF document of an existing PDF document

We have a 3 MB PDF document (53 pages) that takes round about 2 minutes by using the auto save option in PDFCreator. Another PDF document we tested (2 MB, 180 pages) converts/stores very fast (less than 10 seconds) in the defined folder. In the 3 MB PDF doument are some graphical objects and some pages with very small fonts. Is this the problem?
