Problem while acted as a Printer Server

Dear Sir:
First I must say thanks to you, it's easy and powerful, especially it provide the function: acted as a printer server.

I install pdfcreator in one of our windows 2000 server, it works well except on limitation: I must logon and run pdfcreator for client to make pdf file. I had tried to configure it as a Windows Service and run automatically. Although I had successful cofigured it as a service, the client still can not print unless I run it manually. Since most server is running automatically without manually interupption, for example when power off in midnight, nobody will remember to logon next morning. Pdfcreator will become a really PDF Printer server if it can run as a service.
thanks

same question to me. How to set this as a real network printer?

It is only possible how it is in the help file. Another solution is not possible at the moment. For your server use AutoLogon.

I have tried both instsrv and srvany. The service will install. however, when try to start the service, either as System (w/ "allow interact..." on or off), or an admin user, it will not work.

the PDFCreator.exe process will launch, but the service manager will hang then eventually timeout and kill the process. error from the service manager is:

Error 2186: The service is not responding to the control function.

I tried this on NT4 2K and 2K3 servers, same problem.

any ideas? thanks!

running as service is working now, read my post "Install As Service" for instructions.
