.pdf's look like "gobbledygook"

Hi,

I am able to create .pdf's using PDF Creator without any problems. However, when I send them as e-mail attachments a minority of those who receive them say when they open them it looks like "gobbledygook" (sorry to use such technical terminology)while others receive them with no issues. This issue doesn't seem to discriminate between MAC or PC users.

Would anybody know what might be causing this problem? Or how to fix it?

FYI: I'm using a 3 year old DELL Dimension PC run Windows XP Home
