Error 52 in PDFCreator 0.9.5 Print Monitor

I'm using a VB6 application to print Crystal Reports 9 reports by the thousands to PDFCreator 0.9.5 using COM however the PDFCreator print monitor abruptly stopped after around 12500 printjobs with the following error:
Error 52 "Bad file name or number" in module modPDFCreator, procedure IfLoggingWriteLogfile in line 50190.
Can anyone please help?

Hello,
this is a known problem fixed in later versions. Please update to 0.9.8.

I have encountered the same error using 0.9.8.
Is there any information about the cause? Is there a way to avoid the error?
