Anyone using PDFCreator in their XenApp 6.5, 2008 R2 64 Bit environment?  Likes / Dislikes?

Thanks for the feedback!

 Dear pdfguest

We've got PDFcreator 1.2.3 installed in our enviroment similar to yours, sadly we are struggling a bit to get it to work.

Seems like prints from all users are collected in the same "queue" - and they are not able to finish the creation. We we're using PDFcreator 1.01 on our old servers, so we are still working on a solution.

Any feedback you might have, are greatly appreciated.

Just a followup.

This weekend, we uninstalled pdfcreator and installed the latest version 1.3.2

A normal "change user /install" - install pdfcreator - and "change user /execute", and all worked like a charm :)

Problem solved..

Bjarne,

I have a XenApp 6 server, but it does not work with this installation procedure.

Did you install the client installation or as a server installation ?

Niels

Hi Niels,

We did a straightforward client install.

But as usual, prior to the installation, we executed the "change user /install" command.

Then we started pdfcreator, and disabled the automatic update feature (we don't want ours users to be notified about updates).

In retrospect, we should have chosen not to install the pdf architect  - its just confusing to users and seems buggy still.

Finally we executed the "change user /execute" command, and that was it.

Hopy you find a solution, please post your findings here :)

Thank you Bjarne,

Do you also use the AutoSave ? ie automaticly save pdf save documents with the COM object ?

When the user prints the document manually it works fine, but not with the AutoSave.

Hi Niels.

No sorry, we don't use autosave. And I don't have any experience with it.

You might want to check the autosave settings. Some programs in a citrix enviroment have problems with unc names and/or enviroment variables. So instead of \\someserver\users\%username%\autosavedir, you may have more luck with x:\users\specificname\autosavedir

Best regards,

Bjarne
