Temp folder

Submitted by Phil_PM on Thu, 2008-04-17 18:48.

Hi there

I use PDF creator on XP workstations on a win 2k domain.
I encountered a problem when I installed it : PDF creator as many programs needs a temp folder, but in place of using the default temp folder (defined by the ev %temp%) it uses %windir%\Local settings\temp in which the common user has no rights to write, I spent some time to find it and each time I instal PDF creator on a new machine I have to correct these rights.
Questions :
Why did the programmers choose to use this temp folder in place of usual one?
Is there any solution to tell PDF creator to use the usual temp folder?

TIA for your answers

Do you use the recent version of PDFCreator 0.9.5?
This should not happen in the standard installation.
Possible that old setting are in the registry.

Try this:

Uninstall PDFCreator
If necessary remove these registry settings
HKCU\Software\PDFCreator
HKLM\Software\PDFCreator
Install PDFCreator again.
