0.9.5 created files freeze Acrobat Reader

Files I create with PDFCreator 0.9.5 are perfect when viewed with the Foxit PDF-Reader. But with Adobe Acrobat 8 the rendering is sloooooow, Acrobats memory usage goes up to a *couple of hundred megabytes* and CPU usage is high. And I am talking of a 60 KB PDF!
Same files converted with the old PDFCreator 0.8 display fine in Adobe Acrobat. I thought of a configuration issue and pressed that "reset settings" button but that doesn't help.
Anyone who experiences the same?
Sure. I packed up a zip here: mergedfiles.zip (52 KB)
It contains the following files:
Two plain text files
--------------------
page1.txt
page2.txt
The files above converted to PDF with PDFCreator
------------------------------------------------
page1.pdf
page2.pdf
Those two PDFs merged with PDF Creator and PDFBlender
-----------------------------------------------------
mergedWithPDFCreator.pdf
mergedWithPDFBlender.pdf
page1.pdf and page2.pdf that were created with PDFCreator display fine both in Foxit and Acrobat.
The merged files differ: while the file merged with PDF Blender (which I chose just for comparison) ist only 11 KB the one made with PDFCreator is factor 4x (44 KB).
And when I open the one created with PDFCreator in Acrobat 8, it freezes, the one made with PDF Blender displays fine.
Thanks for looking into it!
