Solved: Save button disabled

Submitted by kettch on Tue, 02/07/2012 - 18:50

In the options window at the bottom there are three buttons: Cancel, Reset all settings, and Save. Why is the save button disabled? I can't save the settings so it's pretty useless right now.

EDIT: Never mind, right after I submitted this post I realized I should try running the application as administrator.

i'm using pdfcreator to accomplish this conversion, it works on development machine but in production server i have several inconsiste behaviours.

First, i'd like to ear from you , have you implemented this combination of pdfcreator + asp.net + web services + IIS sucessfully ? what are the tricks ?

Created PDF/A-1b files not valid

Submitted by iteha on Mon, 02/06/2012 - 16:00

Hi,

we're currently trying to setup PDF Creator 1.2.3 on our Windows 7 machines to create PDF/A-1b complaint documents out of Postscript files. We do that by executing PDF Creator through command line with:

PDFCreator.exe /IF"C:/TEMP/example.ps" /OF"C:/TEMP/pdfa.pdf" /OutputSubFormat"PDF/A-1b"

The specified PDF file will be created. However, if I validate the file using several online validation sites like:

http://www.pdf-tools.com/pdf/pdfa-online-pruefen.aspx

or

http://www.intarsys.de/pdfa-check

Generated pdf-files are very large

I use version 1.2.3.

Creating a pdf-file out of three doc-files and one pdf-file the filesize of the generated file is about 13 MB. OS is WinXP Pro SP 3, AdobeReader X.

On an other system I use version 1.0.2 of pdf-creator and an older version of AdobeReader, OS is XP Pro, too. The filesize of the generated pdf is only about 6 MB, using the same four files as source. Settings in pdf-creator are all the same.

I honestly don't know what is going on, but ever since in installed this program I have barely been able to print ONE document in thel ast few days from my real printer.  It has just stopped working.  I believe the spooler is "stopping" but even if i start it up again, through cmd.exe  as administrator it still just turns of moments later!  I do not know what to do but I really need my printer working again.
