How to deactivate PDF Architect desktop notifications

Along with the installation of PDF Architect you will be regularly informed about upgrading opportunities that might suit your needs. For example, if you’re only using PDF Architect’s free modules it will inform you about discounted upgrades to PDF Architect Standard or Pro package by sending a desktop notification every now and then. PDF Architect will also inform you about new major releases and provide you with a suiting upgrade offer.

If you are happy with the provided functionality and do not like to upgrade, you may deactivate the pop-up notifications on your desktop in PDF Architect.

To deactivate the desktop messages, please follow these steps:

  • Start PDF Architect
  • Click on FILEOptionsGeneral
  • Click Disable below Notification System

Of course, you can reactivate the notification system if you would like to receive information and offers for PDF Architect.

The Pop-Up messages still show up after uninstalling PDF Architect

In rare cases, the Windows service “PDF Architect 5 Manager” cannot be uninstalled alongside PDF Architect. This service is responsible for the desktop notifications sent by PDF Architect. This behavior will only occur if the notification system was not disabled prior to uninstalling PDF Architect. If you would like to uninstall PDF Architect completely, please make sure to deactivate the notification system beforehand.

You can manually stop and delete the service if PDF Architect is already uninstalled. To do so, follow these steps:

  • Run the Command Prompt (cmd.exe) as administrator
